Week 13: Revision
Based upon feedback received during critique, I saw from problems with my animation and had to fix them.
Final Process
At first my animation was flat and needed more movement , therefore I added moving shapes. The box that covered April’s eyes in the beginning was too fast for the transition to go smoothly, to solve this issue I slowed down the second transition phase. I also needed High Resolution pictures for the background Next I placed her artwork posters to come down before the main information displayed. The swirl that’s in her poster design in the last phase needed to animate like in my storyboard, I played with that until it animated. Lastly, I placed the closing information to appear after the animation of located in the background because it got too busy to focus on the information.

Synopsis
For this project I had to create a preview for an imaginary graphic design exhibition being the curator of the show; To communicate information about the exhibit and ultimately to seduce the audience to go and visit the show when it opens. The specs included a dimension: 1280 x 720px, Square Pixel, 30FPS (frame per second), H.264, the time limited being 60–90 Seconds. This will help to explore the use of image, type, and sound in communicating messages along time while examining narrative structures and strategies using the program After Effects.
Process:
I had to start off with picking a graphic designer to create this animation. My first pick and only pick is April Greiman. She’s the Queen of the New Wave and legendary in the Graphic Design world. After I choose elements that would be presented in the project like shapes, vivid colors, and different typefaces that could layered in her style. Then created a story board that would help curate this show.
My research furthered extended into looking for songs that could go along with April’s style as well as fit perfectly with the project. I looked for songs that came out during the 80’s and had a Memphis style tone to it and there I found the perfect song, 99 Red Balloons
Lastly, I used After Effects to put my design together and used Photoshop to isolate images of her for the beginning of the animation and some of her works to integrate into the work.
