Week 9: Revision

Based upon feedback received during critique, I created a 47 Secs of my Synesthesia Project revision created using After Effects.

Process

At first my initial Sequence I only did the first 30 secs of it, but as I edited and worked on it more, I added more shapes to it and made sure I had all of the correct information on it. I listened to the sound multiple times to try to match it up as much as I can.

My Final Revised Synesthesia:

Week 7 & 8: Synesthesia Music Diagram & Storyboard

For this Synesthesia Project,I had to show a visual representation of sound, space, and rhythm. I choose a short sample of instrumental music (45 seconds ) ) I chose, Hans Zimmer -Dark Phoenix. The Specs is a dimension: 1280 x 720px, Square Pixel, 30FPS (frame per second), H.264 Compression.

Process:

I selected a sound sequence which contained a variety of distinguishable motives (smallest melodic or rhythmic figure) Next I analyzed it, which I identify different dimensions of contrast in music, diagram it to understand its time-based structure, chose visual vocabulary for my animation: abstract forms only and lastly synchronized audio and visual components.

Storyboard with Annotations.

Storyboards are tools to help the film director and cinematographer visualize the shots, framing, and composition of the film. I created one using my initial design.

Music Diagram:

This depicted 45 seconds to 1 minute of audio composition (instrumental, no lyrics) as a graphical notation using lines, squares, circles, triangles or other geometric shapes. Each shape represents a particular sound or instrument in the composition.
